The power couple discusses the first half of the 8-part Dark Knight III series from DC Comics, written by Frank Miller and Brian Azzarello with art by Andy Kubert and Klaus Janson. We start the week talking about some new trailers (Doctor Strange, Jason Bourne, Magnificent Seven, The Girl on the Train, X-Men: Apocalypse, and Independence Day: Resurgence); you can tell we're really "excited" about all these movies because we each use that word about ten times a piece while describing our reactions to the trailers (3:50). We the talk about the upcoming Flash movie and the ongoing Flash tv show (15:28) before briefly touching on the upcoming Punisher tv series from Netflix (18:29). Some of the best new comics from the week are next, even though Charlene read approximately none of them (19:35). We watched the latest film adaptation of MacBeth this week (24:31) and talk about the expanding podcast network of The Ringer (26:42). Next up is our first impression of the new Game of Thrones recap show After the Thrones on HBO (28:54), and we follow that up with some talk about the first episode of Game of Thrones, season 6 (30:50). Lastly, before we get to Dark Knight, we cover Beyonce's visual album Lemonade (34:07). Then, the best part: BATMAN (36:51)!

We also watched the first two episodes of the new season of The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt on Netflix (14:27). Marvel's Moon Knight #1, written by Jeff Lemire with art by Greg Smallwood, is up next. It was a great debut issue and introduction to the character that we highly recommend (15:53). The Fire Rises documentary about the Nolan Batman movie trilogy (20:20) and another viewing of Batman v. Superman (21:53) quickly followed. Then we dive into "Enough with the Canon," an article from The Atlantic by Asher Albein about the relationship between fans and canon (27:08). Finally, we get to Dept. H #1 and the great start of its locked-room mystery (38:03).
